Thornton & Ross invest in Production Facilities

Having recently completed a £2m modernisation programme for its Zoflora production facility at Linthwaite, which involved rebuilding the mixing and filling areas and installing new high speed filling machinery, Thornton & Ross has announced plans to upgrade and expand its pharmaceutical product filling area. With work being spread over the next 2 years, the project is expected to cost up to £5m and will deliver the expanded capacity required for the next 10 years.

Thornton & Ross sells 10 OTC brands to Actavis

Thornton & Ross has recently announced the sale of 10 OTC medicine brands to Actavis UK. The brands involved are Cymalon, Dermidex, Electrolade, Ellimans, Gastrocote, Goddards, Morhulin, Orovite, Sominex and Yeastvite. At present Thornton & Ross will continue to handle orders and despatch stock, but eventually responsibility for this will transfer to Actavis. The disposal allows Thornton & Ross to focus on the brands it retains including Covonia, Hedrin, Care, Crampex, Setlers and a number of other OTC brands.
